Werner Herzog’s “Encounters at the End of the World” had a memorable scene with a penguin heading off into the wastes.
I won’t pretend that I don’t feel this little guy’s pain sometimes, particularly in terms of the Internet. There’s an isolation that comes with this medium that’s disturbing. It’s one of the reasons, I think, that so many people lose basic interaction skills when confronted with the web.
I didn’t realize when I picked the domain name that this video excerpt was out there (my idea was a mashup of “Crazy Larry’s Appliances”-type store names and the Linux Penguin), but I’ve seen the search term pop up in analytics and thought I’d better embed it here.
